Alabama's construction and hurricane relief mission team has finished their work in Haiti and is preparing to return home Oct. 18. EpiscoPatter checked in with the time Friday evening Oct. 17, as they celebrated competion of their mission with their Haitian hosts.

A seven-member team from the Diocese of Alabama arrived in Haiti Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, to begin a week-long construction and hurricane relief mission.  EpiscoPatter briefly linked up with members of the team following dinner Monday evening.

Special Session:
         Preaching the Gospel of Radical Inclusion  

Special Session Slide ShowSpecial Session is a one-week summer camp experience for individuals with special needs.  It provides a place of unconditional love and acceptance for about 90 campers, 70 counselors and 30 supporting staff members. 

On July 7, the final night of Special Session 2008, the Rt. Rev. John McKee Sloan, suffragan bishop of Alabama and Special Session director sat down with EpiscoPatter to talk about the unique camp experience.

Mission to Namibia 

Jeremy & Penny The Rev. Jeremy Lucas, a priest in the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama, and his wife Penny, began a three year ministry as missionaries to Namibia, Africa in June 2008.  On May 23, before they left, Jeremy sat down with EpiscoPatter to talk about his and his wife's new ministry.
